The Workshop is a newly renovated timber framed 17th century barn.
The accommodation has been extensively refurbished maintaining much of its original features which tell its varied history. It can sleep 4-6 people over two levels, with an open plan and well equipped kitchen, utility, dining room and lounge area. The master bedroom has an en suite shower/ bathroom, the second bedroom with en suite wet room is adapted to aid most disabilities. The mezzanine has a sofa bed with separate WC and basin. The barn has been well insulated, double glazed to conservation standards and in keeping with its 17 C charm. This is a cosy retreat with its log burner and under floor heating. It would suit couples, multi generational family with teenagers or young children and the family dog. Outside there is decking, a small walled garden all with wheelchair accessibility and plenty of off road parking.
The workshop runs alongside the successful Bendysh Hall B&B which has been running for a number of years. There is fishing, scenic walks, and the area is popular with cyclists. Close to Audley End house, gardens and miniature railway. Saffron Walden market town, the renowned Saffron concert hall, Duxford, Newmarket, Ely Bury St Edmunds, Lavenham, Clare and Long Melford all in easy reach
Set in a quiet rural setting, The Workshop is located at Bendysh Hall which is a working farm and family home run by Nick and Ali Fordham. The farm consists of 300 acres of land which grow mainly wheat and oil seed rape with conservation areas and old meadow lands.
The Workshop has access to Great and Little Bendysh woods with many footpaths for you to enjoy walking in. There are some great opportunities to see the wildlife and wild flowers are abundant, including bluebells in April/May and beautiful wild orchids in June.
It is close to Audley End house & gardens . Saffron Walden market town,the renowned Saffron Concert Hall & Bury St Edmunds. London is only an hour by train, if you fancy exploring the Capital’s Attractions. See our What’s On page for more things to do
